I started my career as a NICU nurse where I fell in love with helping families become confident in caring for their infants. Then, when my first baby was born, he did not latch for almost 8 weeks. During that time I struggled through mastitis, tongue and lip tie release, and all the intense emotions that come with feeding, especially as a first time mom. The lactation consultants I worked with changed my life. They made me feel confident and capable, and walked with me through the challenges. Thanks to their expertise and compassion, that baby went on the breastfeed for almost two years! My journey and those who helped me along the way inspired me to become a lactation consultant myself.

I am a life-long learner, constantly looking for new ways to improve my practice and better serve my clients and families. I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with an additional Master’s Degree in Nursing Education. I am currently wrapping up my Functional Medicine Certification where I have been learning to look for and address the root cause of health issues, rather than just treating symptoms as they arise. Through my formal training and personal life experience, I have developed a holistic and evidence-based approach to lactation care.

I believe that mothers and babies are born with everything they need for a long, happy breastfeeding journey. My job is to provide the support the family needs to help them reach those goals. I know that breastfeeding is more than putting a baby to the breast - it is a body to body and soul to soul act. Knowing this truth helps me to uniquely support families not just physically with breastfeeding, but to help support their physical, mental and spiritual health. It is all connected.

I live with my husband and three beautiful children in Sylvania, Ohio. I enjoy playing music with my family (at home or out in the community), cooking, and performing in live musical theatre productions when I have the time!
